My Mid Century Fabric Collection - then and now.

I've collected fabrics for the past fifteen years or so - I turned into a real fabric geek around ten years ago when I became obsessed with Mid Century Modern fabrics by designers such as Lucienne Day, Marian Mahler, Jaqueline Groag and many designers for Heals. I built up quite a collection over the years and sourced fabrics from all over the world. I would make cushions, sell some and keep some. I knew all the fabrics off by heart and could spot the a mile off - yes, I was that geeky!

My life has changed over the past years as I've been a screen printer / textile designer and more recently, an illustrator. I've gradually parted with my fabrics - lots went to support Totnes Oxfam shop, some were sold and some were kept in my studio.

I've recently been interested in becoming more of a minimalist so I'm now culling more of my fabrics (whilst keeping hold of some very small samples of some of my favourite pieces). It feels like a good time to do this as I'm now a children's book illustrator and spend more time drawing than I do sewing. I also feel it's now time for me to move forward with my career into new directions and avenues. I want to let others appreciate some of the fabrics I've lovingly looked after and have enjoyed over the years so I've decided to sell some of the pieces I have left.
