Usually once a year I celebrate my love for the illustrator Dick Bruna by collaborating with Miffy HQ to celebrate his work and his main character Miffy. I do this by creating toys made from original pieces of original vintage Dutch Dick Bruna fabrics. Those of you that have followed my career will know that I signed a Licensing agreement several years ago now to allow me to keep promoting the wonderful brand Miffy with my handmade toys and cushions. *I’ve been a huge fan of Miffy since my childhood in the 70s and have many books by Dick Bruna, puzzles and games. I paid a homage to him last year which I’ve documented in my blog post here.

This year, as we’ve been in Lockdown and have been celebrating the NHS, I’ve designed my own Rainbow fabric to create contrasting little sleeping bags for my handmade toy Miffys. I’ve also created some little bags and matching cushions.

I’ve also created some little lavender bags with his duck fabric - I love these little characters, so simple and playful.

I’ve recently added a few more lucky Dick Bruna finds to my collection including these two boxes of cards dating from the 60s, a puzzle and some original Dutch squeaky children’s toys.
